Our Art Room firmly believes that drawing and painting are learned disciplines. Most students have the misconception that someone is either born with talent or not. This is not true. We believe that drawing should be instructed first by learning the fundamentals. It is just like learning how to play the piano, all you need to do is practice as much as possible. We take a classical approach to teaching drawing and painting. What this means is that instruction will couple with practice, practice and practice. Students will be shown how to draw step-by-step, over and over, using different subject matter and different media. As every student comes to class with different levels, skills, and understanding, these instruction is given through one-on-one personal interactions with students that allows us to adjust to each student's artistic concerns. Class size is kept small (maximum of 5 students per class) to emphasize personal attention. Each student will be designed with a personalized curriculum which will develop all aspects on the skills of fine art in drawing, design, painting, coloring, sketching, mix media and add on with creativity and knowledge subjects. Program are tailored to the ability, interest and needs of students. This enables them to be given the artistic "tools" they need to create art for the rest of their lives.
Our Art Room demonstrates that anyone can learn to draw and paint. Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and design. Students will learn the correct techniques to drawing shapes, figures, and many other different objects. Once students are proficient in their drawing skills, they progress into the exploration of painting mediums. Students receive extensive instruction in the use of each painting medium, including color-mixing, painting techniques, and the proper use and care of materials. They will also learn how to express their imagination and feelings with various materials. The student's eye will be trained to understand object's size and placement, and the student's hand will be trained to explore different drawing and painting mediums.
Our curriculum is diversified. Students will be exposed to a variety of different styles of art (from contemporary to abstract; surrealism to impressionism; European to Asian), different media (from colored pencils, pastels to watercolors, graphite, charcoal, acrylics, oils and more), along with different art techniques (from basic principles to advanced level) and projects. Our program covers art history & famous artists, artistic styles & techniques, cultural influences on art, the vocabulary of art, different elements of art and principles of art design. Each project is designed to present new challenges. Every effort is made to offer the broadest range of technical experience in each medium, specific to each student's abilities and interests. Students learn to create still-life, landscapes, seascapes, figure, portraiture, animals, cartoons, patterns and more. Besides learning technical and artistic skills, students gain patience, focus, pride and confidence in their work.
Art is to be a joy! However, there should also be a learning process involved, learning the fundamentals and the academics. You will find our program both enjoyable and educational.

"Every true artist has been inspired more by the beauty of lines and color and the relationships between them than by the concrete subject of the picture." -Piet Mondrian
